What is Bioheat®?
Bioheat® is a blend of biodiesel and ultra-low-sulfur heating oil (ULSHO). It is made from renewable and domestic resources such as plant oils, animal fats, recycled grease and algae. These fatty acids are found in soy and other vegetable oils, recycled restaurant oils and other natural sources.
Will Bioheat work in my heating system?
Yes! You do not need to make any changes to your furnace, boiler or tank to begin using Bioheat. It is safe and provides a cleaner, more complete and energy efficient burn and releases fewer emissions while still producing the same level of heat.
Is it better for the environment?
Yes! The production of BioHeat is energy efficient and the fuel itself is nontoxic, biodegradable and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, the biodiesel industry helps the US economy because everything is done domestically with manufacturing, transportation, agriculture and the service industry all serving important roles in the production of Bioheat. Plus, its production reduces the need for hundreds of thousands of gallons of foreign oil we once depending on.
Do I need to request it?
